Important Details
The number of vacancies may vary depending upon occurrence of upcoming vacancies arising out of promotion of regular Junior Assistants to the post of Senior Assistants, besides urgent administrative requirements of the Institute. One post out of the additional vacancies arising after the promotional process shall be reserved for PWBD candidates. The Institute reserves the right to modify the number of posts accordingly.

Syllabus
1. English Language
This section evaluates proficiency in grammar, vocabulary, and written communication. The topics include:
Vocabulary: Spellings, Synonyms and Antonyms, Idioms and Phrases, One Word Substitution, and Word Groups.
Grammar and Structure: Parts of Speech, Sentence Completion, Error Correction, Active-Passive Voice, and Ordering of words.
Reasoning and Comprehension: Odd man out, Reading Comprehension, Verbal Ability, and Letter Writing.
2. General Awareness
This section focuses on current events and institutional knowledge:
General Knowledge: Static GK and National/International Current Affairs.
Institutional Awareness: Specific knowledge regarding IITs and the IIT System
3. General Aptitude
This section tests logical reasoning and quantitative logic:
Reasoning: Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, Coding and Decoding, Puzzles, Series, Analogy, and Statement-based questions.
Logic and Calculation: Direction sense, Time and Distance, Races and Games of Skill, and Clocks and Calendars.
4. Mathematics
The mathematics section covers a wide range of arithmetic, algebraic, and geometric concepts:
Arithmetic:
Numbers, HCF/GCD and LCM, Simple and Compound Interests, Profit and
Loss, Ratio and Proportion, and Arithmetic and Geometric Progressions.
Algebra: Polynomials, Linear equations (including pairs in two
variables), Quadratic and Cubic Equations, and Algebraic Expressions.
Geometry and Trigonometry: Basic Geometry, Mensuration, Trigonometry, and Squares/Cubes (including roots).
Statistics: Data Interpretation, Basic Statistics, and Probability.
5. Computer Applications
Given the nature of the Junior Assistant role, this section covers both hardware and software fundamentals:
Fundamentals: Computer Systems (Uses and Types), Number systems, Character Representation, and Binary Arithmetic.
Hardware
and Memory: CPU, Motherboard, Processors, Ports and Interfaces,
Primary/Secondary/Auxiliary memory (RAM, ROM, Cache, Hard Disks, Optical
Disks).
Software and Internet: Types of Software, Application
Software for Office Work, and Internet terms (Web page, Home page,
Website, Browsers, URL, Webserver).
Networking and Protocols: Internet Applications (WWW, Telnet, FTP), Social Networks, and various peripheral devices
